Our growing online training offer is for Individual activists, civil society organisations, law enforcement and governmental representatives from across Europe and beyond, wanting to act through effective responses to the issues of hate crime and hate speech. 

 
Facing Facts! develops a series of online courses on identifying, monitoring and countering hate crime and hate speech. Our online trainings aim to reach a broader audience of civil CSOs, law enforcement, governmental bodies and individuals who wish to take action. Crucially, we meet the needs of the many CSOs and police officers that do not have the resources to attend residential training.

ONLINE COURSE ON MONITORING HATE CRIME 

You will learn about hate crime and its impact on victims and communities, how to recognise and record hate crimes and how to use your data to advocate for improved responses. The variety of our learning methods and its highly interactive components make this course unique. You will be accompanied by experts and practitioners in the field in your learning journey. Launched in January 2017 the course was held already twice in cohort of 30 participants.

ONLINE COURSE ON MONITORING AND COUNTERING HATE SPEECH 

It is time to stand up against hatred and take action! Our new online course on online hate speech provides the perfect opportunity. With this course you will explore what is hate speech and why it so difficult to define. You will get a an understanding of the harm of hate speech on individuals and on society. We will navigate you through the best set of actions that you can take to fight against hate speech online and give you practical tools to start your monitoring and/or counter speech activity.

BIAS INDICATORS MODULES AVAILABLE FROM DECEMBER 11th 2018 

Facing Facts is developing 7 new short and specific online courses on bias indicators. Available soon on www.facingfactsonline.eu, each course offers unique insights into bias-specific hate crime and to the community most impacted by it. Specifically tailored for civil society organisations and police forces the course will support better recognition of hate crime as well as enabling more accurate reporting and better monitoring. The courses explore biases against the following communities: People of African descent, Disabled, Jewish, LGBT, Migrant and Refugees, Muslim and Roma. 

Online courses on anti-disability, antisemitic, anti-LGBT, anti-Migrants and anti-Roma bias indicators will be available from December 11th 2018, make sure to be the first to sign up!
